Elise joined the Sue Adler Team in January 2017 as Director of Marketing and Community Outreach. Prior to her new role with the Sue Adler Team, Elise owned and operated a small retail shop in Summit, NJ. Having taken the business from an initial idea through building the website, curating the products, opening and merchandising a brick and mortar location, and spreading the word to shoppers from coast to coast and abroad, she quickly learned that effective and appropriate marketing and branding are essential to the success of any business. Through the use of social media, word-of-mouth marketing, selective advertising and exceptional customer service, Elise was able to make a name for herself as a small business owner who could recognize what her customers were searching for and then provide it in a professional and friendly manner. And as a proud member of Summit’s small business community, she was always willing to recommend another local business to her customers if they were searching for something she couldn’t offer. “We have the privilege of living and working in the small towns along the Mid-Town Direct Train Line,” she says. “Each town has such a wonderful sense of community and home that I was always happy to sing the praises of all of our downtown businesses. The charm and ‘good-neighbor’ attitude is what makes these towns the places we love to call home.”
Before opening her store, Elise worked for many years as a marketing and advertising coordinator for an independent boutique real estate firm, where she learned the importance of developing marketing strategies and brand image in the world of real estate. Between 2000 and 2004, she and her husband bought and sold homes in Pittsburgh, Columbus and Phoenix, before finally settling with their four sons here in Maplewood, NJ, where they lived until 2014, when they moved to Maplewood’s “sister town” of South Orange. After all the home buying and selling, it was no surprise that she embraced a career in the real estate profession, where she could combine all that she had learned about the process of buying and selling a home with her writing, editing and marketing skills, not to mention her love of all things “home.”
An avid lover of the arts, Elise volunteers as a freelance writer and “dance mom extraordinaire” for both the Concepts in Choreography Pre-Professional Youth Dance Company in Orange and the Maria Priadka School of Dance in South Orange. She is also a founding member and current board member of the St. John’s Summit Concert Series, a non-profit concert series dedicated to bringing diverse musical performances to our community.
She believes that the real estate business is about more than just buying and selling homes. It is about building relationships with our clients, the communities where we live and work, and the businesses that provide all the essential services that make our towns so special. She’s honored to become a part of the Sue Adler Team, a group of real estate professionals that are market-savvy and knowledgeable, dedicated to building our communities and committed to putting the needs of our clients above all else.
