Kick off the holiday season in Millburn/Short Hills with these festive events!

32nd Annual Snowflake Parade: Don’t miss this beloved annual event on December 6 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The 32nd Annual Snowflake Parade will step off on Millburn Avenue between Holmes and Spring Streets, and will feature professional bands, clowns, costumed characters, and more. After the parade, stick around for an afternoon of family fun and activities, including pony rides; Santa Land and digital photo booth; music spun by DBoy Entertainment; train rides;manicures, face painting, and tattoos; plus hot chocolate, snacks, a bounce house, clowns, princesses, and more.

Short Hills Twilight Holiday House Tour: Ring in the holidays on December 5, from 2-6 p.m., by strolling through five festively-decorated Short Hills homes during the annual Short Hills Twilight Holiday House Tour. Seasonal music will be provided by talented students from Millburn High School, and a holiday tea will be available to attendees at the Short Hills Club, 144 Highland Avenue. ($20 advanced tickets are required to be purchased by November 25.) Tickets for the House Tour are $35 per person when purchased in advance, and $45 on day of tour. Preordered tickets and day-of tickets will be available at The Short Hills Train Station on Chatham Road. “A Christmas Story: The Musical”: Head to the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn this holiday season and catch a performance of the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story.” In this beloved tale, Ralphie wants only one thing for Christmas: An Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle. “A Christmas Story: The Musical” is the hilarious account of Ralphie’s desperate quest to ensure that this most perfect of gifts ends up under his tree this Christmas. Straight from Broadway‚ this musical is based on the classic 1983 movie. It’s funny‚ heartfelt‚ and captures holiday wonder with such deliciously wicked wit that it is sure to delight children and grown-ups alike. Bring the whole family‚ again and again and see the holiday movie that the whole world loves comes to musical life. Don’t forget to bring a new or gently used coat for the annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive!

The Peanuts Gang and Santa in Short Hills: Inspired by the new “Peanuts Movie,” this family-friendly holiday experience featuring the iconic Charles Schulz characters will be offered at The Mall at Short Hills. The indoor holiday display features a 30-foot dome complete with falling snow, a light show, and other activities for the entire family. In addition, children can watch special scenes from the new movie, create and compare their icy hand print alongside Snoopy and Woodstock, and have their photo taken with a life-size graphic of Snoopy and his dog house. The Mall at Short Hills will also offer the opportunity for families to visit with Santa Claus as part of the Ice Palace experience. Those who visit Santa will receive a complimentary gift. The Peanuts Ice Palace, located in Grand Court on the lower level, will be open until December 24 during all mall hours; extended holiday shopping hours will be in effect through the season.
