About Laurie Silver-Corsello

Listing Specialist · Realtor Associate
Laurie Silver-Corsello
Having moved five times during the first eight years of her marriage, Laurie learned first-hand about buying and selling homes. Following a successful career in retail management and sales, Laurie was looking for a new opportunity that would allow her to utilize her negotiating, marketing, and customer service skills. With the memory of her home buying and selling experiences still fresh, Laurie realized that real estate would be a perfect fit and in 2005, she launched her very successful, client-focused real estate career. By her second year in business, Laurie had become a top-selling agent. Today, in addition to being a top producer, she is a highly respected expert on the New Jersey local real estate market, assisting over 120 families with their real estate needs in just the past 3 years. Her experience, depth of knowledge, and commitment to helping others have made her not only a huge asset to clients, but also has made her a role model and mentor to newer agents. A growing segment of the real estate market is homeowners who have been in their homes for 20 years or more. From working with many of them over the years, Laurie has learned that there are needs specific to these homeowners. In order to serve these homeowners better, Laurie became a certified Senior Real Estate Specialist and launched the downsizing division for the Sue Adler Team.

As late as Spring of 2021 I didn't even know I was going to sell my home. I am a widower with two adult children and one had already moved out and for the last few years I had been considering what to do with the inevitable arrival of "empty nest" status. But after a year of lockdown and pandemic any major lifestyle moves like that seemed on hold. Then my younger child did leave just as I began to notice house sales booming in my town. I began to consider a long-held, but not articulated, notion to return to New York City after my quarter-century sojourn raising my family in South Orange, NJ. The timing seemed right: the seller's market was hot in my neighborhood and there were deals to be had on apartments in Manhattan. But without a prior timeline I had not done the work I thought my house would require to list high or even considered staging it for sale. I could have waited for a year but for all kinds of reasons the time seemed right. NOW. After attending a Sue Adler virtual seminar I decided to ask about the merits of an "as is" sale. Within a week one of her associates had visited my home and discussed the merits and minuses of such a move. I decided time was as much of a factor as anything else in my decision and within two weeks my house was listed for a number researched and recommended by the Sue Adler team. After a weekend we had multiple offers all over asking and in three it weeks I was under contract. A month later the sale closed and I was living in my new apartment on the upper west side of Manhattan. Some of the process was exasperating and frustrating as I had not sold a house before—and there was additional complexity in securing my New York apartment. But anytime I needed to be walked back from the ledge the Sue Adler team were there. They acted as a support “care team” taking me through every step in the journey from the first consultation to the final closing. It was total customer care: from crafting the listing to recommending movers to obtaining the necessary permits and even providing ideas on where to sell or donate downsized items. Everyone I dealt with - Laurie, Jessica, Aislinn, Erika and Luciano- expressed an empathy alongside their professionalism that went above and beyond mere service in support of a commission. I’ve achieved a goal that seemed like a pipe dream only a few months ago. As I walk my dogs in Central- or Riverside Parks or look out from my new apartment onto 107th Street, off of Broadway, I am still in the “pinch me” mode. We did it! My heartfelt thanks to the Sue Adler Team and my strongest endorsement!Read Less

We were able to retire to Northern Virginia to purchase a dream home in May near grandkids after the expert help and guidance from your persuasive and experienced and God's grace. A follow up invite from Amy Esposito to participate in a home selling webinar was the spark that accelerated our plans to prepare our home for maximum appeal in this unprecedented robust market versus next year. At first we strongly resisted recommendations to paint our honey oak kitchen cabinets and rec room paneling Winds Breath beige but before and after pics offered by Laurie Silver-Corsello were more compelling that those less gently offered suggestions by a top Chatham realtor who wanted to list our home for $100,000 less. We believe that God acted through your responsive team and contractors including Erika Olesen, Aislinn Cholet, Jessica Lascar and Leah Gomberg and Hugh Strong and Ben Weisfelner to give us the resources just in time to transform our home in just 3 weeks on a $12,000 budget that was readily recouped with $745,000 cash offer on first weekend of showings with 3 other offers in excess of the asking price as a back-up. Hugh Strong's foreman Ivan went above and beyond to continue painting interior rooms and touching up exterior surfaces on an only where needed budget just days before listing even after learning of the sad news that his brother Eduardo who is new father was suffering from a brain tumor! I must say that the process was still an exhausting nail-biter between decluttering to local storage, sorting through a lifetime of memorabilia, closing out 40 year old permits and enduring invasive inspections (including colonoscopy of our sewer line.) but the sale was closed within our aggressive deadline after a $11,500 credit issued to the buyer. The remarkable thing was that with these mostly cosmetic improvements, that our home fetched a similar price for our home that has the Midtown direct railroad track in the backyard as those with substantially more updates/remodeling in the quieter side of Woodland Road. A home warranty funded by Laurie Silver-Corsello helped cement the deal. Please accept our thanks for superior outcome!Read Less

When we decided to sell our home of 15 years during a pandemic, we knew we needed Laurie to represent us. Laurie had been showing us homes in the area for a number of years (we were local and only looking opportunistically), so we got to know her well and always appreciated her deep market knowledge and responsiveness but even more, her genuine care for her clients. We knew she would handle our biggest transaction - the sale of our family home -- with the same care and professionalism. Boy were we right! Laurie and her team exceeded our high expectations! Laurie oversaw every detail of the sale, including ensuring the safety of our family and home. She was professional, prepared, candid, fair, and never pushy. She did extensive research to make sure she recommended the correct listing price for our home (not just a low price that assured a quick sale) and then diligently (and successfully) pursued getting that price. Her judgment at all turns was superb and she and her team made the process virtually effortless. She got us to a successful closing within 2 months of listing our home. At every turn, she was there. We were privileged to have worked with her and her team!Read Less
