The Ultimate Guide to the Best Community Pickleball Courts in Your Neighborhood

For pickleball enthusiasts, finding the perfect court to play on can elevate their experience and enhance their skills. The availability of well-maintained courts, strategic layout, and a welcoming atmosphere can make all the difference in connecting both your athletic, and your social skills, with others in your community! In this blog post, we’ve mapped out all the major, community pickleball courts in our local towns, showcasing the venues where the action truly happens.

Berkeley Heights: These courts are located at Columba Park, where a permit, or guest fee ($10 paid at the court), is required for both residents and non-residents. Learn more by visiting their community link here!

Chatham: Grab your racket and head to Garden Park, next to CMS, where you’ll find public pickleball courts for those looking for a local place to play! These courts are open from 8am until dusk, where more information can be found here!

Florham Park: First come first serve! Enjoyed these well-maintained courts, which provide portable nets, at Pat and B.J. Highland Memorial Courts. You’ll need a community pass, which you can register for here.

Livingston: Make your way to the Youth & Leisure Services (SYLS) Office (204 Hillside Ave., M-F, 8:30am–4:30 pm) to get your resident badge for just $10 (or $200 if you’re a non-resident). Places to play include Heritage Middle School (where online reservations are required) and Northland Courts, where reservations can be made here using your community pass account. Madison: Madison High School Tennis/Pickleball Courts are free for public use and offer portable nets. Find out more here!

Mendham: This dedicated pickleballing community recently converted the tennis courts at Mount Pleasant Road to include pickleball lines! Just make sure you reserve your court 48 hours ahead of time by following the directions posted here!

Millburn & Short Hills: Grab your photo Millburn Recreation ID membership badge, which if you need more information on obtaining these, can be found here. With your membership, access to Taylor Park, Gero Park, Slayton Field, and the High School courts. More on rules, regulations, and reservations can be found here!

Montclair: Check out Montclair Pickleball for open play, clinic, lessons, tournaments, and more! Located at Montclair State University, behind the Montclair State Ice Arena, you can choose a date and time to drop in for $15, or book 10 week packages for $120! Morristown: A popular destination for pickleball enthusiasts rests on the 6 courts of Ginty Field. Badges are required, which can be purchased through the Community Pass portal located here. Courts are open from 7am-10pm, where more rules and regulations can be found here!

North Caldwell: Pickleball memberships are provided by the recreation department, which can be found here! Residents can register to enjoy the North Caldwell Tennis Courts, where court #6 is reserved for pickleball usage only! Reserve your spot (and even bring a guest) by clicking this link!

Summit: Head on over to Upper Tatlock Field, where there you’ll find multiple courts to play! To reserve your spot, visit their community website link here. SOMA: Maplewood and South Orange residents can register, and reserve, online to rally at Walter Park! Here is where you can find all the information you’ll need!

West Orange: Make sure you stretch before heading over to O’Connor Park, where two courts are now set up for both tennis, or pickleball! Click here for more information!

Westfield: Tamaques Park offers 3 pickleball courts for public use. If you’re wanting to perfect your drop spin, check out these programs that are offered here!
