Pleasant and Riker Hill ), two middle schools ( Mount Pleasant and Heritage ) and Livingston High School. Livingston High School is consistently named one of the state’s best high schools in New Jersey Monthly Magazine and the school is recognized for its academic rigor, advance placement offerings, artistic programs and boys and girls sports teams.

Livingston is a family-oriented community that offers a number of enjoyable recreational options. The Arts Council of Livingston supports theatrical and artistic endeavors throughout the community including, the Livingston Camera Club, the Livingston Community Players, the Livingston Symphony Orchestra and the Livingston Arts Association. In addition to these wonderful creative efforts, the Livingston Public Library hosts frequent art exhibitions by noteworthy local artists.

The Township touts a wide array of parks, two community swimming pools and multiple playgrounds. Sports-wise, residents can take advantage of the many baseball and football fields, basketball courts, lacrosse fields, six tennis courts and a bocce court. Located in the center of town, Memorial Park offers scenic open fields and ponds, a nature preserve, amazing trails and the  9/11 Memorial Garden. Northland Park also offers four tennis courts, a basketball court and a community center. For outdoor enthusiasts, East Hills Park boasts a fitness trail that winds through 55 acres of wooded parkland in addition to a dog park that has two fenced areas where dogs are able to be off-leash. Prospect Park is 29 acres of forest with hiking and biking trails for a quick escape into nature; the 147-acre Becker Park borders Livingston and provides access to The Lenape Trail (a 34 mile trail that connects 18 parks and 11 municipalities). Livingston is also home to the  Cedar Hill Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole course with immaculately manicured grounds on with a recently renovated clubhouse.

When it comes to shopping, Livingston has it all, from sleek shopping centers offering big name brands to strip malls and small family-owned specialty shops. The Livingston Mall boasts a huge selection of retail shops in a very convenient location, and retail destinations throughout the community contribute to the ease of living by providing everyday essentials with ease. The Livingston Town Center offers a classy shopping experience with its exclusive boutique shops, specialty stores and upscale dining options. Livingston’s close proximity to the high-end  Short Hills Mall adds an upscale, luxury option for all of the locals’ shopping needs. From Farmer’s Markets to designer clothing stores and everything in between, the shopping experience in Livingston contributes greatly to the area’s already astonishing appeal.

Foodies will no doubt enjoy Livingston’s dining scene. Home to several classic New Jersey diners in addition to cafes, wine bars, Italian eateries and deli’s, locals will find no shortage of culinary options. For more sophisticated palettes, Livingston boasts several outstanding choices for upscale steak and seafood. Housed in a former stagecoach stop that dates back to 1882, The Landmark is Livingston’s answer to “Cheers”. Serving drinks and bar food, the locals absolutely adore it.

In less than one hour residents, can arrive in New York City by bus, train or automobile. Although there is no Midtown Direct Train from Livingston that can take you straight to Manhattan, an express shuttle service is available to The South Orange Train Station. In addition, residents can take advantage of an excellent bus service from various locations in Livingston that can get to Port Authority terminal in about 45 minutes.

By car, Route 280, Route 10, County Route 508, the Eisenhower Parkway, I-78, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway are all easily accessible, and  Newark Liberty Airport, a major continental and international gateway, is just a 25-minute drive away.
