Learn to Draw Comics & Graphic Novels with Rick Celano

Open to aspiring artists ages 12 – 15, learn the secrets of the comic book industry and create your own original comic book or graphic novel at the Morris Museum of Arts and Sciences. Create characters with depth and dimension and tell your stories through panel-to-panel illustrations. Instructor and comic book creator, Rickman, will teach you how to write, draw and layout your own original graphic novel.

The course costs $180 for museum members and $200 for non-members. The Morris Museum of Arts and Sciences is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, New Jersey, 07960.

Date and Time: Monday thru Friday, July 30 – August 3, 10am – 1pm

Summer Matinees at Trailside

KIDS IN MOTION: Jo Jo Russell takes the audience on a non-stop musical journey.   Be ready to clap, stomp and move. These summer matinees are recommended for children ages four and up.

Strollers are not permitted. Tickets are $4 per person. The Trailside Nature and Science Center is located at 452 New Providence Road, Mountainside, New Jersey, 07092.

The Magnified Eye: Contemporary Botanical Portraiture

Reeves-Reed Arboretum, in collaboration with Susan Frei Nathan Fine Works on Paper, LLC, is hosting an art exhibit, The Magnified Eye: Contemporary Botanical Portraiture.  

The exhibit, featuring watercolors and drawings on paper and vellum from thirteen artists around the globe, will be on display from April 3rd through August 10th in Wisner House on the Reeves-Reed Arboretum grounds.

Date and Time: Tuesday – Friday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
