Save-the-Date for the Big Fall Annual New Providence Street Fair

I noticed this week for the first time that the sun is setting just a little bit earlier.  Makes me think of fall and the many anticipated activities that season brings.  But one of my favorites is definitely the New Providence Street Fair.  The weather is still warm, but we all have that fall feeling.  This year, the festivities are on Sunday, September 9 from 10 am to 5 pm on South Street, between Springfield Avenue and Gales Drive.  This family oriented fair is sponsored by The New Providence Business & Professional Association.

The fair shows what a great place New Providence is to live – it really brings the town together and showcases the downtown area.  With kiddie and pony rides, a petting zoo, balloons and a clown, the kids have such an exciting day.  The famous Prestige Diner will sponsor a “Kid Friendly Art Tent” filled with all sorts of supplies for the youngsters to explore.  And grownups are happy to eat their way through the streets sampling delicious fair food including hot dogs, shish-k-bobs, zeppoles, kettle corn and ice-cream in addition to treats by local restaurants.

Downtown New Providence is jam packed with smiling faces as people stroll the streets looking at the different vendors – everything from antiques to handmade treasures to non-profit organizations educating people on their causes and missions.  And the entertainment, featuring known artists and local talents, will have the crowd up and on their feet.  For more information, contact the New Providence Business and Professional Association at [email protected] or 905.598.2532.

Mark your calendars for September 9 and don’t miss this one!
