Looking for a way to get over that hump day hurdle? We know Wednesday’s can be tough – smack dab in the middle of the week with last weekend fading into memory and the upcoming weekend just out of reach. Time to send out a midweek SOS – #SOSummerNights, that is!
Jointly produced by the South Orange Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs and SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center), South Orange Summer Nights 2017 presents Wednesday night programs blending Art in the Park, Summer Concerts and Moonlit Movies every week through the end of August.
Upcoming events include:
Art in the Park – Programs run from 6-8 pm on Wednesday nights for adults and children over 6 years of age.
July 5 – “Faces of South Orange, Who’s Your Real Life Hero?” – Floods Hill – Be photographed as the most inspiring person you know and become part of a community display! Come dressed in costume or build a prop for the photograph.
July 12 – “Squirt Painting” – Floods Hill- Join in step 1 of a fun community fiber art project by stopping by to spray paint a unique design on giant sheets.
July 19 – “Balloon Sculpture” – Floods Hill – Help create a balloon monster at Floods Hill!
July 26 – “Sew It Up” – Floods Hill – Add colorful thread to the squirt painted sheet in step 2 of the community fiber art project.
August 2 – “Confetti Mural” – Floods Hill – End the Arts in the Park season with a BANG by working with other community members to create a beautiful confetti mural.
Concerts in the Park – Concerts begin at 7:30 pm at Floods Hill in Meadowland Park, but come early, find your spot on the lawn and place an order for refreshments from the array of food trucks!

July 12 – Nine Deeez Nite (‘90s Tribute and Covers)
July 19 – Shining Earth (Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute)
July 26 – Counterfeiters (‘80s, ‘90s Party Band)

Moonlit Movies – Movies begin at 8:15 pm at Floods Hill in Meadowland Park
August 9 – Sing
August 16 – Grease
August 23 – Pitch Perfect
August 30 – Beauty and the Beast
It definitely looks like Floods Hill is the place to be to “jump the hump” and kick off the second half of your week all summer long.
