To all my dear friends in Chatham, I invite you to check out the fun lineup of upcoming spring family and adult events being sponsored by the Chatham Newcomers and Neighbors Club (CNNC).  I love Newcomers Clubs because they give new residents a chance to be welcomed into their new community and established residents a chance to socialize, catch up with neighbors and join together in community spirit.  So much information is shared at these events and you always come home with great tips, information and even a few new friends.  Here’s some ways to take part…..

On Saturday, March 31 (rain date April 1), hop with your little ones over to the Milton Avenue School Playground for an Easter Egg Hunt Family Event.  There will be a colorful egg hunt, tasty treats and festive prizes.  Egg-cellent games will be sure to put a smile on your little ones faces, so don’t forget the camera.  The fun starts at 10 am.  The cost is $10 per child and non-walking tots are free.  For more information and to RSVP by 3/24, go to (www.register.communitypass.net/reg/index.cfm)

Ante up for the next CNNC Adult Social Event — the Annual Men’s Poker Tournament — Saturday, April 28.  More details will soon be available on their site at www.chathamnewcomers.com/events-calendar/.   Put on your poker faces and check back soon.

Host a dinner and spend an evening with old and new friends.  The CNNC Progressive Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, May 19.  Hosts are still needed for this favorite Chatham event.  Double the fun and co-host a dinner with a friend; hosts will be compensated $20 per couple.

Finally, my favorite, the End of Year Bash.  This year’s theme, Martini Madness, promises to delight martini lovers and those just looking for a night out.  Complete with a Martini Ice Luge – mark your calendars on June 2 and hold the date!!

The Chatham Newcomers & Neighbors Club (CNNC) is a non-profit social organization that provides opportunities for its members to meet neighbors and learn about local business and community happenings.  CNNC also coordinates a community service project to lend a hand to neighbors in times of need.  CNNC welcomes newcomers as well as those who have lived in Chatham for years and may be looking for a chance to reconnect with the community and get more involved. For more information on membership, visit their website at www.chathamnewcomers.com.

Connect with old and new friends this spring and enjoy a few get-togethers and smiles.
