Sum It Up Lacrosse for Girls

Sum It Up Lacrosse for Girls is touted as being “the best girls lacrosse company in NJ for beginner and intermediate K-8th graders.”  They offer a seven week camp for girls at six different locations throughout the area.  The camps run Monday through Friday and are coached by a certified athletic trainer who can handle health issues like asthma, allergies and basic first aid.  Financial assistance is available and confidential.  For more information about Sum It Up summer camps for girls please visit http://sumitupforgirls.com/2013-summer-camps-final/.

Sum It Up also provides lacrosse training for boys.  The organization runs two week camps for boys that are intended for beginners who want to try this fun sport in a comfortable and nurturing environment.  The camps run Monday through Friday and also feature certified athletic trainers.  For more information about the boys camp please visit http://www.sumituplacrosse.com/boys.php.

Summit Lacrosse Club

The Summit Lacrosse Club was established in 1972 to promote the sport amongst Summit youth in grades 1-8.  The aim of the club is to have fun while developing the player’s character, skill and love of the game.  The club promotes an inclusive environment where all participants have the opportunity to practice and develop skills for high school level lacrosse.

The Summit Lacrosse Club season is from March through June with sign-ups beginning in the late fall.  The club offers a six week clinic for boys and girls in first grade, lacrosse instruction for boys and girls in grades 2-4, and teams with games played against teams from other towns in grades 5-8.  To learn more about the Summit Lacrosse Club please visit http://summitlacrosseclub.com/Default.asp?snid=dBND5H7[&org=summitlacrosseclub.com.

New Jersey Elite Lacrosse

New Jersey Elite Lacrosse was founded in 1998 to allow Summit youth-league players an opportunity to play in some of the country’s most competitive high school age summer all-star events.  The organization expanded in 2000 to include residents outside of Summit.  The team chooses players to represent the state in some of the most prestigious lacrosse events in the nation.

New Jersey Elite Lacrosse sponsors the Middle School Skills Camp.  Boys entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades are eligible and each session is limited to 55 boys.  Some of the workshops available at the camp include Stick Skills, Individual Skills, Offensive/Defensive Skills, Agility Drills and Competition.

Many of the New Jersey Elite Lacrosse players go on to have distinguished high school and college careers, earning all-conference honors, academic all-conference and All-American honors.  Some players have even continued their lacrosse careers after college by playing professionally or by serving as college coaches.
