South Orange- Maplewood Schools Named a ‘Best Community for Music Education’

The National Association for Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation once again named the South Orange-Maplewood school district as one of the “Best Communities in Music Education!” The Foundation recognized a total of 388 districts for their commitment to and excellence in music education with a BCME designation. Maplewood Community Music Presents ‘Winds and Brass and Drums! Oh My!’

On Saturday, April 11, Maplewood Community Music will present “Winds and Brass and Drums! Oh My!” a children’s concert that is a special collaboration between the Maplewood Community Concert Band and the Maplewood Middle School Wind Ensemble.     On March 10 in Atlantic City, the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs won four awards of excellence at the annual New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association convention.
