With a wide array of events catering to various interests and age groups, there’s no shortage of fun to be had. So, gather your friends and family, put on your coziest sweaters, and make the most of this delightful season by participating in these fantastic fall events. It’s a wonderful way to create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds within our community. Don’t miss out on the autumnal excitement!

 

Maplewood
⤷The Maplewood Art Walk & Music Fest, Maplewood Village
⏱ October 15th from 11am-5pm
bring art, music, and dance to the streets for everyone to enjoy and experience! It’s a full day of the local art scene with fine artists exhibiting in the streets alongside musicians, merchants, and children’s activities.

Millburn
⤷25th Annual Firehouse Open House, 459 Essex Street
⏱ October 14th from 12pm-2pm
Grab the whole family to enjoy the rare opportunity to jump on board a real fire truck and support our first responders! Featuring a Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, specialty High Water Rescue 5, Shoring Unit, and (of course) the Scream Truck, this is an opportunity no one wants to miss!

⤷Saint Elizabeth’s University, 2 Convent Road
⏱ October 14th from 10am-2pm
Enjoy a full day of fun for everyone! This free and public event features games (including a giant-sized hungry, hungry hippo), mechanical bull, corn maze, bounce house, pumpkin carving & painting, face painting, photo booth, and amazing food trucks! There’s also a performance by the Malcom X Shabazz High School Marching Band at 1pm! You’ll want to check this out!

⤷New Providence Street Fair, Springfield Avenue between South Street & Livingston Avenue
⏱ October 29th from 11am-5pm
This fair promises a day of fun for the entire family and draws a crowd of OVER 5,000 people each year! The streets will be filled with local merchants, and a host of activities (for young and old), along with amazing local vendors featuring tasty treats!

⤷Reeves Reed Arboretum, 165 Hobart Avenue
⏱ October 21st from 2pm-6pm
OKTOBERFEST 2023 transforms the Reeves-Reed Arboretum into a beer garden with all you can eat and drink, lawn games and live music! This event features premium autumnal ales, Bavarian-style bratwurst, and pretzels with side-dishes (provided by Barth’s Market) famous for their old-world German dishes. Doppelgänger, a 5-piece German band, will set the mood for this fun afternoon in the garden! Oktoberfest attire is also highly encouraged! Proceeds from the event support the Arboretum!

South Orange
⤷Hola Fest!, Irvington Avenue, between Riggs Place & Ward Place

This event merges the popular Seton Village Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival with Hola Fest, a cultural event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Enjoy a full array of music and performances on the main stage, along with delicious food honoring Hispanic flavors!

⤷ARToberFest, Downtown Westfield (Elm Street)

Wonder down Elm Street and awe at some Halloween-inspired art pieces, seasonal art and- you got it-there will be beer for sale! Funky costumes are encouraged! Vendors are encourage to give out candy as a bonus! Be a part of the free opportunity to celebrate talented artists and enjoy the food and drinks (including beer) that Westfield has to offer!
