As late as Spring of 2021 I didn't even know I was going to sell my home. I am a widower with two adult children and one had already moved out and for the last few years I had been considering what to do with the inevitable arrival of "empty nest" status. But after a year of lockdown and pandemic any major lifestyle moves like that seemed on hold. Then my younger child did leave just as I began to notice house sales booming in my town. I began to consider a long-held, but not articulated, notion to return to New York City after my quarter-century sojourn raising my family in South Orange, NJ. The timing seemed right: the seller's market was hot in my neighborhood and there were deals to be had on apartments in Manhattan. But without a prior timeline I had not done the work I thought my house would require to list high or even considered staging it for sale. I could have waited for a year but for all kinds of reasons the time seemed right. NOW. After attending a Sue Adler virtual seminar I decided to ask about the merits of an "as is" sale. Within a week one of her associates had visited my home and discussed the merits and minuses of such a move. I decided time was as much of a factor as anything else in my decision and within two weeks my house was listed for a number researched and recommended by the Sue Adler team. After a weekend we had multiple offers all over asking and in three it weeks I was under contract. A month later the sale closed and I was living in my new apartment on the upper west side of Manhattan. Some of the process was exasperating and frustrating as I had not sold a house before—and there was additional complexity in securing my New York apartment. But anytime I needed to be walked back from the ledge the Sue Adler team were there. They acted as a support “care team” taking me through every step in the journey from the first consultation to the final closing. It was total customer care: from crafting the listing to recommending movers to obtaining the necessary permits and even providing ideas on where to sell or donate downsized items. Everyone I dealt with - Laurie, Jessica, Aislinn, Erika and Luciano- expressed an empathy alongside their professionalism that went above and beyond mere service in support of a commission. I’ve achieved a goal that seemed like a pipe dream only a few months ago. As I walk my dogs in Central- or Riverside Parks or look out from my new apartment onto 107th Street, off of Broadway, I am still in the “pinch me” mode. We did it! My heartfelt thanks to the Sue Adler Team and my strongest endorsement!

I'll start with WOW...from the moment that I met Sue, I was so impressed with her local area knowledge and business savvy. I respected and admired her approach to selling a home. Lets get the price right and the customers will come...even potentially a bidding war. And she was right...at the right price I received multiple offers within 4 days of the listing. All were either above listing or at listing. What made the experience with the Sue Adler Team was her team. Between Sue, Melissa ( Listing Success Manager) and Neil (Transaction  Manager), I felt completely at ease and they were there when I needed. "I became a fan of Sue Adler when I first met her about 4 years ago in one of the many open houses I like to go into (I like to look at houses even if I am not in the market for one kind of a crazy hobby of mine). After I met Sue I knew that if I were ever in the market to either sell or buy she would undoubtedly be the person I would choose to work with. For four years, she has kept me updated about homes and I have visited many (if not all) of her open houses in the Millburn/Short Hills area. What has always impressed me about Sue is her ability to understand the market and really grasp the pros and cons of each individual property in order to market and price it effectively. In addition, Sue has a tremendous ability to understand her sellers? and buyers? likes and dislikes and she knows exactly what they are looking for. For example, she immediately got a sense of my taste and preferences and I have never, ever been shown a property by Sue that I didn't like. Sue has never hesitated to take time out of her hectic schedule to show me a property (even when she probably knew that we were not going to move at that time). Four years later we finally decided to sell our home of 8 years in South Orange. Naturally, we called Sue, she came in and worked her magic did I mention her amazing marketing skills and her amazing photographer and team. Sue knew how to price my house in order to generate interest. As soon as I gave her the go, she did everything needed to be done and pictures of my house went up in her amazing website. We had a broker's open house on a Thursday, the general open house on Sunday and by Tuesday the house was SOLD, and guess what -- in this market we had 10 offers and a bidding war. WE COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! I think that without Sue's guidance and knowledge of the market, our house would probably still have a For Sale sign outside. Now, one more thing, equally important as Sue's incredible business skills is the fact that Sue is a pleasure to deal with. She was a tower of strength for us in an incredibly stressful situation. Our choice to move and sell the only home that we have known was not an easy one but having Sue meant that we not only had the best broker working for us but we had a supportive friend who was looking out for our best interests.
